Tiniyja Burney, MA, CCC-SLP

Tiniyja is a Speech-Language Pathologist who is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Central Michigan University and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from The Ohio State University. She is licensed in Michigan. Tiniyja has a history of supporting pediatric clients in outpatient medical and private practice settings. She has supported children with literacy, language, fluency, motor speech, and speech sound production disorders. She opened Honeybee Literacy, LLC because she noticed that there were not many facilities within her community that supported children with literacy disorders. Throughout her career, she has met children and families who weren’t provided access to assessment and treatment to support them with their reading skills. Honeybee Literacy, LLC exists to support these families on their reading journey and ensure that they have access to therapy that utilizes structured literacy approaches. Tiniyja is passionate about teaching children to read and utilizes the Orton-Gillingham approach as well as Structured Word Inquiry methods to aid her clients in developing literacy skills. She believes that every child deserves access to literature.
